The Mare Nostrum LAB Platform is a collaborative initiative uniting researchers and developers from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the Warsaw University of Technology. Together, we are building the digital infrastructure needed to modernize archaeological research.
Extending Open Source Solutions
We believe in the power of open knowledge. Instead of reinventing the wheel, we customize and extend industry-standard open-source platforms - primarily Arches, alongside GeoNode, Recogito, and Wikibase, tailoring them specifically for the complex needs of modern excavation and cultural heritage preservation.
A Multidisciplinary Synergy
Our strength lies in our combined expertise. The team at the Warsaw University of Technology drives the software development and systems engineering, researchers at the Jagiellonian University provide critical architectural knowledge, guide complex data modeling, and lead the specialized gathering of field data.
